Default interceptor 10k

Hi guys I thought i'd let you know I bought the interceptor 10k and put it on my lattice tower last week and i can say that i'm very happy with this antenna. I have a very good vswr and centered the frequency on 27.425 mhz, the bandwidth is also very good. The antenna is normally at about 45 ft but can be wound up to about 60ft with no wind problems. The rx and tx is better than the imax 2000 that has been in use for over ten years and the A99 with GPK i had before that. The first thing i noticed is how much quieter the recieve is, wow. I am also getting between 1 to 2 S points more on both rx and tx with my chipswitch president lincoln. I'm getting good reports so far and it's only a week since it went up. I found the setting up instructions not that great and the photo copied pictures a little bit dark but it wasn't that difficult to follow. It took me about 2+ hours from the start to having it on the tower. I will say the instructions need to be a little better for the average joe with coloured pictures too and not black and white ones. They could be more comprehensive aswell. Steve and Jay was a little slow with return e-mails but i'm not going to complain as i'm pleased with the results. The tuning was right where Steve said it would be with a bit more tuning on the trombones, 1.0 vswr. I have been told i'm the only person in the south of the UK with this antenna. I didn't want an sirio 827 as everybody over here has them or an imax-2000, they also fail in heavy UK winds and i wanted something different to everyone else too. In a nutshell it's the NUTS!

You're comrade to the north (bob85) has one also and he's inline with your comments of it's wind survivability.

Great antenna indeed..

I am Not at all surprised that you find it so Superior to the Imax 2000 and A99 with groundplane kit..

For i have the very same antenna..

it should give you easily yrs of trouble free service regardless of the weather ( as mine has been working great for quite a few yrs )

Hello Delta:

Thanks for the good words here its greatly appreciated!

Its always good to hear customers give us performance reports that echo the preliminary tested we did on several different type antennas, and the prototype I-10K users. Some of the I-10K prototype users I even paid to be tested.

I know how severe the winds can be at times, and should a I-10K Break I want to see the broke part as I will replace it free. I have a metallurgists that will analyze the break. But we have never seen one break so far.

Good luck, and again thanks for the good words.

Hey Jay,

I have seen your antenna survive crazy winds ( i mean crazy )

One such time i cautiously went outside as i thought for sure the antenna and chimney would be elsewhere..
Your antenna was still holding on...But man..the top of the antenna was whipping back and forth and even doubled over and had touched the roof..

Following day i expected to have to go up and clear away antenna parts (as well as chimney parts)..

Instead to my amazement...the antenna was fine with only a very slight list due to the slightest of bends where the antenna mounts to the chimney mounts..

Oh but i failed to mention that 2 of the chimney mounts were twisted beyond belief...
( frankly i fail to understand how the antenna stayed in one piece )

So i ordered another 2 sets of chimney mounts...fixed the twisted set...mounted everything all up again...added 4 guy lines..

Oh and raised it up another 10 ft...

Oh and Still works as good as New...Despite 2 near tornados (both within a mile of my home)and some really crazy classic nor easters

No Doubt to me that this is a Excellent Designed antenna..
Both at looking at survivability to extreme weather and Performance ( Period )
