I have yet to see one that is AB-1 out of the box.
Can you post a Pic of the inside?

no I cant Jeff , but I thought I remembered them not being AB1 , this one here looks like the old boomer boxes.

I can understand the SSB delay but call it AB1 right on the front of the box and not be, is truly ballzie. IM sure it would do 400 with 4 x 1446s , but AB1 ? that's whole a different story. Good to see you around Jeff , it's been a while.

switch they do usually have the parts in there for a very crude AB biasing circuit but the ones i have seen are grounded into class c with chokes, i put one back into AB for a local, it sounded better on ssb, not good but better, it did not improve the shitstorm of noise across the band that it produced, the one i had usesd srf7000's.

You want "ballzie"? Look at the claims of some antenna manufacturers.

I heard that it was a guy named "Vern" who builds boxes with a bias circuit, but then grounds it out through the chokes, thus making it class C. Seems pretty strange to me.
