Default 10 turn clarifier

Hello to all on the forum, been a member for awhile but have never posted to the forums, just a quick question,I talk with an older gent with a Saturn base,he has a difficult time with the dual clarifier, the fine has been unlocked but he still has some problems getting on ssb he is 73 yrs.old and not very patient at times.Just wondering if anyone has or knows how to change clarifier to a single 10 turn pot or if it is even possible to do,thanks for any info and take care.

Chris.

Its definitely possible, and shouldn't be hard to do at all. If memory serves, just cut D39 to remove the fine-tune from the circuit, and unhook the leads from the course clarifier control and connect them to your 10-turn. Make sure, of course, that the POT is the same value as the original.
