The 1969 is a great transistor and they're still widely available. You can get way more than 35 watts out of a 1969 in a Cobra29. I routinely get 45-50 out without messing with the output filter coils. Personally I like that mod the best because if you ever want to put it back to stock, it's not that hard to do.
Anyway, if you want to go the FET route, you can use the ERF2030 for 25-30 watts or the IRF520 if you want 40-50 watts. |
