I first set it up at 1 watt, but quickly learned that it needed to be at 3/4 to get 200% modulation.
What audio soft ware are you using ? I am using the free one from online and a sure sm58.
I am sure I will learn the ins and outs of this thing, as soon as I went on the air today, my doorbell started ringing, everyone came over to look at it.
i use breakaway broadcast free audio software. for mic i use Marshall Mxl 2001 condencer mic and for mixer i use behrenger eurorack ub1002 that goes into breakaway and then out to the mauldulator. depending on your voice and what sound you like you may want to upgrade to a good condencer microphone.
Reminds me of an old Senile Dude was on the radio about 30 years ago, he used to sit and talk to himself all night, every night, he eventually died on the key literally, Think he was the original "Ghost Talker"
i run a Maverick 250 set at a dead carrier of 3 watts swinging to about 30. then i made a purpose built 811a single tube grounded grid amplifier that takes that 3 watts and bumps it up to about 20-25 swinging to almost 200watts. you have to look at your scope to make sure your amplifiers are running in complete linearity. you dont want to sacrifice modulation, so to overcome that you use many amplifiers loafing eachother higher and higher
