I have a cobra 29, I was in one truck and hardly got any noise coming through the radio. I switched trucks and now I getting a bunch of noise.
I made a noise filter I found on the net. That helped a little, I started running the power cables to the batteries, That helped even more. But
its no where near what I know it could be. I noticed the faster I go the louder it gets. And if I switch from from right lane to left lane it pretty much goings away, then when I switch back the noise comes back. Any thoughts on what mights be causing this?

If anyone out there has any info on this, (I already have the manuals - they don't show this assembly) I would appreciate it immensely.
Hi Sonwatcher. I wanted to tell you I appreciate the posting of the Messenger 223 manual and schematic. I received one as a gift from my late father when I was a boy. I'm cleaning it up. I have a quick question you might know the answer to.

I was taking the microphone mouthpiece cover apart and the inserts came out in my hand. Before I could see how they were arranged, they had separated. There are 2 metal mesh screens, one has a fine mesh cloth-like patch, and the other screen is plain. There is a black foam ring and a reddish paper ring, too. I know the paper ring goes between the internal diaphragm and the rest of the assembly. Do you know the sequence of installation of the other three? Any help is appreciated.
