They did go after the Kenwood dealers around 1995 with regard to the TS50 as I recall. They also put pressure on Kenwood about 10 years ago when Kenwood announced they would start selling radios to truck stops. The only reason Kenwood, ICOM and Yaesu are not on the list of illegal transceivers is that the list was developed by an old time Amateur operator and not by a neutral party.
And this is where the party starts, what you have here is a conflict of interest by allowing amatuer operators to be involved in the enforcement and or policy making portion of this department.

That's like allowing the arresting police officer to sit as judge on all of his arrests.

The FCC will never be truly neutral until all licensed amatuer operators are removed from the system.

As with most government entities charged with protecting the supposed best interest of the people, the FCC lost sight of it's purpose long ago. The agency has nothing to do with protecting the public, or a ham operator, or our kids from the dirty words that will make them all commit suicide. It exists for one purpose only, to generate revenue. A task at which it has a shaky performance record at best. The Ham operators that believe in the false harbor it offers them, will be sitting center cross hairs as soon as it becomes profitable to the powers that be. For any government agency at this point in time when our politicians have put this country on the edge of collapse to ever spend any taxpayer monies to pursue a damn illegal export radio is criminal in itself. These fools that have elected, and appointed themselves as the powers that be are the crooks, and should be brought up on charges of treason against this country. The FCC is as corrupt as the rest of the lot, and will continue to do as they please, when they please, in the manner they please. If it the so called laws start to get in the way of their agenda, they will have the laws changed to suit them as most other agencies and special interest groups do. It's all about the money.

kenwood icom and such are not targeted because they use vfo's and not a 10k preset selector.

Kenwod, Icom and Yaesu are not targeted because they cost too much, so they are not the favorite of freebanders. It is that simple. If Kenwoods start showing up in truck stops, the FCC will go after them too. Well, the agents who are not also licensed amateurs that is.

Speaking of corruption and the FCC, has anyone been able to follow the money trail on all that VHF low band TV spectrum that was to be auctioned off to the highest bidders? I'd love to have the inside scoop on this and to know who's pockets got lined by selling bandwidth that belonged to the public.

I know it involves a lot of money but the better question is who is entitled to receive this money? Certainly not the FCC! Isn't it great how they got everyone to believe the frequency changes were needed for the new DTV system? That couldn't be any further from the truth. That's why all the big stations were on VHF because it propagates better.

Anyone else notice how the cable companies took full advantage of this change also? Many have removed dozens of channels from the basic lineup and lied to the public by telling us this was in preparation for DTV. Turned out to be a profitable scam for the cable providers since they can now charge for a digital cable box.

I HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION TO ASK ALL OF YOU!

Would you like some cheese to go along with all that whine? It will come on little 'crackers', you should feel very comfortable with them.

This same 'whine' has been around for over thirty years that I'm aware of. It has not aged in the bottle very well, it doesn't travel well at all, and the taste is getting very unpalatable.

If you don't like how something is, change it! There are ways of changing things that work, and there are ways that are very stupid to even try. So quit being stupid, and do it right for a change.

Is it really that hard to understand?

Geeze! I've seen better whining, whimpering, and crying in a nursery.

That was helpful. Perhaps you could suggest an effective way to get government agencies to start serving the public again?

Doc, all this griping about "the money, the money, the money"! FCC gets NOT ONE THIN DIME OF ANY FINES OR MONIES COLLECTED!!! FCC operates on a BUDGET ALLOCATION just like all other Federal agencies. Fines collected go to the Federal Treasury. But you already knew that! Most of the griping is done by those who chafe under rules and would like nothing better than to have NONE at all.
