Has anyone tried this?, thinking of one for my DX949. Not looking for mega watts just a little more than stock.

For less money you could get the same or more watts with a KL-203 amplifier. They run about 64 dollars. The RFX-175 is about 125 bucks plus install fees.

Don't ruin a good radio. Do like the man said and put the external "antenna Extender" after the radio.

"Antenna Extender?"

Going to have to remember that one! Jesse approves of this message.

You know, that little spacer thingy that goes in between the coax and the antenna that makes the antenna longer.

(Some of them even hook up to 12VDC to keep the antenna warm in Winter so it won't ice over)

Dang...What will they think of next!

Around here, we use them to keep the rain from getting into the antenna...Helps dry them out...Mine worked so good this past summer that it didn't rain on my antenna all summer long!

While the concept of the RFX-175 is righteous...

I'm afraid they have a high suck value.
