DTB Radio is on a distinguished road
Default Trying to read post on CB Radio Talk

I'd like to look at a thread posted on the CB Radio Talk forum, but I've been permanently banned from there by one of its sponsors, namely Radioactive Radio. The thread link is http://www.cbradiotalk.com/viewtopic...533278d6d13b0d

If someone could take a peak, and just post a quote of the initial post, I would appreciate it.

The post is supposed to be someone doing a write-up of my idea to take a junk CB and make a spectrum analyzer out of it. I'm curious to see what the person wrote.

POSTED by a guy going as TiP:

Here's an idea that's been kicking around in my head for a while: It's no big secret that one of the most attractive features (at least to me) of the big all-band all-mode radios is a bandscope... But what if I don't want to spend the big money to get a big radio, when all I really want is the bandscope? I'm already salivating over the prospect of seeing the activity on all 40 channels simultaneously

Obviously, to have this capability would be a wondrous thing, but I ask you, is it even possible to build a homebrew bandscope for CB?

Yeah, I sure wish DTB Radio would make another appearance, I could also use his (their?) help on the receive armoring mod too. (Exactly what type of diode is a "common switching diode"? 1N4001? Or ... ??)

A spectrum analyser sounds like it'd work, but that's, y'know, $800 or so; kind of defeats the whole purpose of homebrewing, since if I were lookin' to drop that kind of cash, I'd just buy a big radio that comes with the bandscope.

Not a problem, I had to use a proxy to view it. I think everyone has been banned there at least once.

some forums just hate the truth, cb bullshit is much easier to comprehend than "technical mumbojumbo" so say its many proponents.

Your right there Bob , but I don't think it's so much the "technical mumbojumbo" it's not that they hate the "truth" (it's understanding it) the cb bullshit "can" be easier to understand then the "mumbojumbo" .......if that makes any sence to you ? a=g-3+xy4 % = "mumbojumbo" for many of us , Replace r27 resistor (on given radio) with a 100 ohm 1 watt resistor and that will fix your problem........that to many tech's would not be there forms of "truth" because it might not put any money in there pockets

You as a tech can make it easy or complacate the shit out of it for somebody that doesn't have a clue in the first place. (Although it is more a hobby to me then making a living out of it having to pay a morgage, feed five rug ratts , 3 dogs and my wifes allowance)

If I can help ? I will do so with my limited abilities and lack of "mumbojumbo". I believe in keeping it simple (if I possible can) To some ........my post would be nothing but "mumbojumbo" but that's to be expected. Some folks are just looking for a easier ,softer way of understanding things , or better yet , they don't really want to understand in the first place , they just want it to be fixed or work for them.

Now my post here isn't aimed at anybody perticular , it's just the way it is for many and I know nothing about the site in mention. It just seems like there's so many unhappy Forum dwellers all over the place on many Forums of late ? Maybe it's just the way of the world at this time ? Folks just don't seem very content with themselves about to much about anything and it's usually much ado about nothing ........or is it ? Hell if I know ?
