Uhh, I wouldn't do that too often - unless you want to fry yer finals!
A load must be kept on the radio's output when keying the mic on ANY radio!
The interference can be caused by simply having the radio too close to the TV set. Most people have cable TV these days, which doesn't have any problems. I don't. Then, making sure your radio is properly grounded may help, as well as the TV antenna - if you have one.
