Default ICOM 706 COOLING FAN

been thinking of putting my 706mk2g in my car and was wondering if the cooling fan on those radios will turn on by just having the radio hooked to the battery with out the radio actually being powered up.?? i had a galaxy 98vhp in my mobile and if the rig was in the sun and the radio got hot enough (with out being on) the fan would kick on. i got to park in the sun at work and stuff and i didnt want the fan running all day on my icom. anybody have any experience with this radio in there mobile in the heat.

It's been a long time, but I don't think the one I had ever did that.

With my memory, I don't think I'd take that to the bank.
