I just picked up a 6 pill Fatboy amp fo a unbelivable price. I know I need to drive it with something but I'm not sure of whats the best driver for it. Any info would be great. Thanks

300 watts to drive six 2879's ?
75 to 80 watts deadkey into 6 transistors that only need 7 to 10 watts each for max clean output ?

I have a TS 350 and a TS 250. Is one better then the other to use. I know the 250 has 2290's and th 350 has 2879's. Or should I get a 2 pill fat boy

The 250 or 350 will work fine. Does either one have a variable? I use 2 1446's to drive a 6 pill amp. I would set it so that radio turned down and use variable on 2 pill amp so that you dead key about 250-300 watts and let it swing. This will be easier on electrical system and give you nice sounding audio. You can experiment from there. but that should get you in the ballpark. If you DK 60-70 watts into amp on a stock system your audio will start to get clipped (distorted)

Yes booty.

Ask Mackmobile43, he built my 6 pill that is what he recommended.

I use a ts 350 DX as a driver. Might DK a little less it is a rat shack meter after all. Probably more like 40-50 bird.

Never had a complaints about distortion.

Both of my Texas Stars have variables. Thanks alot for the great info. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have everything going

i guesss they pad the hell out the input so folks need to buy a second amp to drive it .
it makes great business sense .

Some may be padded or should I say overcoupled on the input a bit. Sometimes this is just so that the guy using it doesn't kill the box in one keydown in the mobile. I have seen guys DKing 1800 watts on a bird and just run it like that all the time and wonder why box doesn't last. LOL

Thanks for all the info. I just picked up a 2 pill fat boy with a variable to drive it. I know I could have used the texas star but I figured why not match it all.

You don't have a clue about competition amps.
15 watts key into a 6 pill will give you 250 out.........250 watts peak will give you 1200 watts out.
For someone who has not owned anything but an ancient garage sale 2 pill amp you sure think you're some kind of an expert.
I remember the comment you made about the proper driver for a HD 8 pill......you said it was a 1 pill.
You still haven't learned that comp amps and stock amps have 2 different purposes so until you educate yourself......knock off the bad advice.

Now there's the pot calling the kettle black.
