Why do they hold export sales over ebay's head and not try and regulate forums such as QRZ and WWDX in the same manner?

Seems to me they would handle it in the same manner that they do in other sites that advertise or allow advertisement of these radios.

Remember Pacetronics and the countless other Radio sales/forums that have gone by the weigh side or throttled due to the FCC's heavy handed tatics imposed in the name of Spectral Purity.

yup, in about 10mins, lol. the ebay police are quick and fierce.

E-BAY POLICE??? THATS my point

heck, i even bolded, italicized, and underlined "the FCC". again where is the FCC involved.

you are citing e-bay policy. :bdh: go on e-bay and try to sell some (also illegal) chrystal meth. and see what happens.

Put an export radio up for sale on ebay and you'll have your answer with the reason being they are deemed illegal transceivers by the FCC.

Ebay recently got smacked around for pulling Ranger radios...ask Happy_Hamer about it. Ranger radios are not illegal, unless they have been modified for 11 meters.

eBay was contacted by Gary Hendrickson from the FCC around 2001 and he told them to pull all 10 meter radios and amps. Where he thought he had the authority to do that, I have no idea as he was not in enforcement. Anyway, since that date eBay has been pulling the equipment if there is a complaint, but Ranger's agreement with them back in 2002 was the eBay would not tell people the radios were "illegal" or against FCC rules. Since eBay breached that "truce", they are a defendant in a lawsuit.

Every export I've put up for sale in the last 3 years were advertised as 10/12 meter rigs and they got jerked within the second day hence why I do not sell for ebay any longer.

Yup if your sales count is above 500 they over look everything.
really?i could test that theory and put my 4pill up there for sale .but i could probably get away with it listing it as a ham amplifier.

i have heard statements like this befor .along the lines of "if your a power seller they overlook alot of infractions"

i was a power seller for awhile but lost my "status"

How does on lose their "status"?

I snipped this from and ebay add.
Lol, check out the 10 meter radio list.

This has needed to happen for a long time.
E Bay is a Joke when it comes to pulling stuff off that has been listed because of the "undue pressure" that has been laid on them by one guy at the FCC that (in my opinion) had no "Official" grounds to do so.......Got to love how they can "Lean on people" to try to get done what the can not do legally.....
