The best magnet mount mobile cb antennas in my opinion are the wilson 1000 and the 5000.The best antenna out of all of mobile cb antennas ever made is a 102 inch steel whip but they are to dam long.I run a wilson 5000 magnet mount on the roof of my truck and it gets out if it was a base antenna on the roof of my truck.I have tried all kinds of mobile cb antennas and I all ways go back to my wilson.Another antenna I like is the k40 I have used them before to but the tx and rx on the wilsons are a little better and the k40 only holds 500watts where the wilsons hold thousands of watts.I run a older black face rci 2950 with a superstar dm452 echo power mic and a cobra xl250 2 pill amp behind it and it does a good job. Some people tell me some times that I sound like i'm talking on a big base station that makes me proud of my radio setup.I talk skip on am some times on 26.9150 but most of the time I talk ssb from 27.3750 to 27.5550.Some people like talking on am and some people like talking on ssb.I go by boxcar on am and 112 on ssb southern illinois so if you ever here me out there give me a shout.

Yes, Wilsons are pretty much on the top.
I gave away my K40 after I got a Wilson: it just didn't measure up in my eyes.
Sirio makes a mag mount antenna that is slightly better than the Wilson, but a bit more pricey.

I also think the wilsons are the best. I also love the 102' which is what I currently use because the magnet mounts always seem to get knocked off with trees.

best magnet mount

Best magnet mount would be a kit you have to put together from various sources. Triple magnet mount from workman.50 ohm stainless stud from Jerry Cash.102" whip screwed into stud attached to triple magnet mount placed in center of roof.180 degrees of lmr 240 to connect it , and you are good to go.

Your name wouldn't happen to be Jerry Cash would it? I believe you've mentioned that name in all of your posts since you've been here.

No, My name is Scot Johnson. If you were one of the radio shops around the country that buys antennas brackets and studs from Jerry, you would appreciate the quality of his work. He doesn't really deal with individuals much, mostly wholesale. The reason I mention him often in several posts is because I am here to help people. Often someone has a problem, and Barjan (if you know who they are) is never the best solution to the problem. I am always looking for the best of everything, and the best of anything will never be found within 10 miles of your house. The same goes for radio technicians. The best technicians will never be located in your state. Most of the time it pays to go out of your way and pay a little extra for the best technician and or the best equipment for performance and longevity. I refuse to use Chinese products aside from radios, and I hate to see people waste money on something that is inferior and not going to perform as well as what I have or going to last as long as what I have. If I need something, and the only option is "made in china" I pay Jerry to make me what I need so that I can proudly say that what I am using is "made in Ohio". I want everyone to have nice things and I want everyone to have a radio that performs as well as what I have, so if someone wants advice, I freely give it.
If you wanted to have an antenna custom built to your specifications you would have to pay a machine shop at least 65 bucks an hour to sit down, design, plan, and set up the tooling just to make one antenna could cost you $1000.00. I know, because I have spent a fortune designing and building custom antennas for my personal use. By the time I get one built, it cost me so much to make, that it hardly seemed worth it in the end. A prime example is the stainless tips I use to mount a whip in an antenna. 8 years ago, I planned on building 10 antennas for some friends. A local machine shop charged me $250.00 to make me 10 tips. I paid it because I had no choice. Now that I know Jerry, he charges me $4.00 to make me the same tips, and his are more precision. I am glad to know Jerry, and I want to share access to him if anyone wants it. I am not selfish like most of Jerrys customers. Most shops that buy from him keep his name a closely guarded secret because if everyone knew about him, nobody would buy the cool stuff these shops sell, instead everyone would just call Jerry up an buy direct from him for the same price as these shops are paying. I am not in the business of selling stuff for profit, and I don't benefit from people buying stuff from Jerry. I just want people to have nice things that will last a lifetime and perform as well as the things I make for myself.
