Out of curiosity, are those two completely different Cobra 2000 rigs, or just two different photos of the same radio? I noticed that in the last photo, there's one Cobra 2000 radio but two Cobra 2000 speakers, so I know you've got at least two of those. :)

Hey bigal... I see we have the same taste in meters and amplifiers!

I found two Cobra 2000 speakers on a web site for sale for 10.00 for both. I keep one and sold the other.

Overall I'm happy with the K 500. With the Cobra 135 deadkeying about 4w I get about 130w dk and swing to about 275-300 if the matching kicker meter is to be believed.

Most of the time I run the Swinger 205 in 'swing' mode which still gives me a 5w dk but about a 30w swing. Feeding this into the K500 provides about 150w dk with close to 500w swing, again assuming the meter is accurate. I detune the swinger just a bit because if I peak it then it's a 10w dk and a 60w swing which is more than I want to hit the K500 with.

Been doing this for a while and so far no ill effects. Tubes are holding up well and everyone says I sound good.

However I am a bit concerned because in the original Kicker instruction sheet (can't really call a single printed page a 'manual' now) it specifically says NOT to run a driver amp into the thing or the warranty would be void. Now, I'm not real concerned with voiding the warranty on a 40-year old piece of equipment but I figure that little message was put there for a reason.

Do you know of any mods for this amp?
