Satellite QSO planning and schedules

Yes sort of. You need to be able to operate by license on the required frequency/frequencies.

You need radio equipment that will cover the frequency/frequencies necessary.

Usually you need antenna/antennas with an azimuth rotor so your signal does not miss the satellite. I miss RS10/RS11 and RS12/RS13 that used to work uplink on 15 meters and downlink 10 meters so you did not need an azimuth rotor.

You need to know when the satellite will be in range as many do not cover the whole world.

You can learn a lot about satellite work from AMSAT - The Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation

Your in radio,

But now there is not a sat out there that you can't work with portable equipment and a handheld antenna, FM sats anyone can do, linear while portable check out WD9EWK's videos on youtube. There is no possible single satellite that could cover the world in operation today. If anyone wants to work the FM sats, look at Work the FM Ham Satellites or ask questions here. If you want to work the linear(SSB/CW) sats ask here or on the AMSAT-BB

I'm interested in working the ssb inverting linear transponders VO-52 and FO-29. My work schedule gets in the way most of the time until 5:30pm Eastern US time. I'm having a lot of trouble receiving the two birds with my
arrow yagi, so I'm working on a lindenblad project to eliminate having to point at the sats. Until I'm done with my lindenblad, I'm stuck with the fm birds. If anyone wants to schedule a contact, I'll be monitoring.

I dont have my own grid square logged and it just so happens that
Savoir Faire is in fm-19. So if you want to make a contact im up for it.
Just out of curiosity, where is everyone else watching this thread?
