:laugh: Thanks. Yeah, she let me buy my first rig (Yaesu 857D for mobil). Gonna get my feet wet with this and get comfortable then comes the Base. (y)

I passed my tech yesterday myself. I did take the general just for giggles, but I hadn't studied for it so of course I failed as expected. Give me two weeks and I'll have that one in the bag too.

I'm also getting an 857D. I'm going to use it both base and mobile. Just unplug it and take it back and forth. I don't want to leave it in my vehicle anyway. $800 is a small fortune to me.
