You guys can try it but 10M is a terrible choice as a place to conduct nets. Propagation there runs too long. There will be too many who will never be able to hear each other.

......could be why you don't see any other groups holding nets on 10

If the idea is just to accommodate Techs.....geesh the General test is easier and shorter than the Tech is. Why dontcha upgrade?

"country wide" does not make it DX. 10 meters IS a worldwide HF band.

bob N6OPR is in calif, N0ZNA is in St Louis, I'm in florida,

Propagation typically runs long on 10 meters. East coasters working west coasters & visa versa. Someone in the middle of the country won't hear either coast.

Round Table / Check-In Nets are only any good if most or all participants can hear each other.

That's 40 and 80 meters are filled with nets because of big-circle closer-in propagation and the use of higher-angle radiation antennas so there is significant occurrence of straight up and straight down signals. Everyone with several hundred miles can hear each other....as far out as the band is running at that moment.

That's doesn't work on the higher bands.

I tend to agree with the Weasel here. Even when I was new and hot for 10 meters even during a sunspot cycle I never heard any 10m nets. Ocassionally may the 10-10 bunch but that's about it.

I found more local 10m nets. I used to check into some of the 40 meter nets but would always drop out after an hour waiting for my turn.

But, get in there and call a 10m net if it floats your boat. I'll listen in to see if I can hear anyone.

Im down, i skimmed the thread, if its 10m i can promise ill be lucky if i hear past FL, 40m is much better for me. even 80. 10 is open for me once in a blue moon.

We have alot of new techs

in my area...they are getting all kinds of 10mtr radios.I run alot of 10/12/17/75mtrs.Just trying to get them more intersted in a different band than 2 mtr...I run 6mtrs when opened also...73 de n0zna
