Were do these guys find rigs like this?


my guess is these are radios either in use by active military units or reservists. If you di find one of these in the good condition that the two radios appear to be in would likely make the cost of a regular ham radio look cheap. The are spook quality radios use by groups with alphabet type names.
 
I remember seeing some guy in Israel that sells old surplus radio gear from different countries on Ebay. Some (most) of that stuff is way cool. You guys in California probably remember the Lady (silent key) that had that old army truck with mil rigs in it. I enjoy her youtube videos. She was world renowned for her knowledge on those rigs. She had a great CW fist also.

Trucks--Come to think about it, i haves seen one on the net some where in my surfing several years back, but i have not been able to find it here recently.

Radios-Nice too. What might something like that run? At least $25k?
 
i spent 6 years in the military and i seen stuff "misplaced" nearly everyday
everything from rolls of toilet paper to towable generators
this radio would walk off easy if it wasnt tied down or welded
