The FCC just released the test report for the new TH-D74 tribander, which I've attached. This new 144/220/440 HT will support D-Star, includes a built-in TNC and GPS and also has built-in Bluetooth and a MicroSD slot. The fact that the FCC has published the test results indicates that the radio should hit the market shortly. This looks like a very interesting radio that I can't wait to get my hands on.

Twice as high as the old TH-F6A.... I seen this at Dayton although the Kenwood guy would not let me touch it! Not sure of the general coverage and may not have SSB/CW.
Just a guess on the price, $329 - $359

With APRS and TNC capabilities with GPS, it seems like they are replacing the D72, But I have seen no mention of skycommand. Based on the current price of the D72, I am guessing this unit will cost $550

http://qrznow.com/th-d74-kenwood-aprs-d-star/ a cording to the bottom 72,800 yen or about $720 bucks.....and not a single word about their flagship skycommand.......if it turns out to have skycommand, I'll buy it imediately. It would be nice to scan the hf bands on the ht looking for dx, and then switch to the base rig on that freq and work em.....oh well

No 220 in my area, and too many people already know where I am already without APRS. ;) My local club repeater is a Yaesu DR1X, so that throws in the compatibility issue. Do-able, but a PITA. I can buy a lot of UV-82's with that kind of money. Still, I think the technology is unbelievable in such a small footprint.
