I'm seeing $399 at gigaparts and $410 at universal...

Is it really worth that much...time will tell.

I was hoping it would be less, actually. I might as well just get the VX7 or even the VX3

VX-8 looks nice but...

...what's the deal with all these $500+ HTs? Icom has their latest at that price, too.

It's the new order of things.

The dollar's value is plumeting. Expect it to get worse.

Anyway, the TH-F6A is usually around $330 and the best price for the VX8 I've seen is $390, only $60 more, and it's probably $60 more radio, if YAESU would ever publish complete specs

I think VX-8 look like a nice HT. I think that price is probally inline.
