I bought one for my 11 year old daughter who passed her HAM test. Promised her, her own radio if she passed. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on it, in case she lost/broke/never used her radio. I find myself grabbing it more than my VX-8R. Surprisingly well built and pretty easy to use. For the money, worth the purchase. Came from Hong Kong, took a week or so to get here.
