Looking for some help,seems one of my 101e has a lazy meter meaning meter will not move unless a real strong signal comes in ive tried the static buildup thing with a dryer sheet that did not work s Meter adjustment also did not work anyone else got any ideas thanks

fuse lamp?
is it deaf too?
they dont get much recieve if the lamp goes.

maybe ill try the fuse lamp the signals are decent but like the static floor is always real quiet

Well checked it out swapped with another ft101e lamp i know that works same result

RF gain turned all the way up? Maybe replacing the tube used as the meter driver.

yab rf is all the way up you mean replacing the driver tube?

is it inop on all bands or just one band?


cycle the band switch. they sometimes need the contacts cleaned

No, the METER driver - the tube that operates the AGC, which is what the S meter operates from. You'll probably need the manual or a schematic.
