Default 10 meters has been happening!

If you haven't hopped on 10 meters lately, definitely give it some time during the day. It's been open all over the place and a lot of fun! Over the past weekend I was even able to work TE8X while mobile, the DXPedition station on Venado Island off the coast of Costa Rica .

10 and 12 have been bouncing, I worked several stations yesterday on 12 with copper loop antenna that I have been playing with.
50 watts and a 9 foot pc of 1/4 inch copper tubing formed into a circle was getting 5x7 signal reports yesterday all over the upper mid west, great band openings.

When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown,
The dream is gone.
but I have become comfortably numb.

10 meters has been great, and the band has been staying open most all day long lately, been making some good contacts both on SSB and FM. If you have an old CB laying around hook it up to a mobile antenna and park it on channel 6 itís a great way to see if the band is open. 10 has been quite for so many years now a lot of people donít realize its open again, I have tuned across 10 in the past and donít hear a single station but drop down 1 mhz to the 11 meter and its going nuts, u can bet if 11 is open 10 most likely is to

Its been great. I was on my way home from guard duty which was a 3 hour drive and heard alot of Arizona and New Mexico on 10. Called my father on the cell who lives in new mexico and he happened to be mobile with his rig. We talked for 30 min Mobile to Mobile with 5-7 to 5-9 the whole time. I was crossing the Virgina Bay bridge tunnel that spans the opening of the Chesapeake Bay.

Haven't heard "hookedon6" on 10m for awhile.
Where have you been?

Made Canada, NJ, and FL just after I read this post.

Yesterday I was sitting in the car waiting for some family to arrive and heard loud and clear a South African station speaking with a fellow from the Bahama's.
