that's because the "pop" has nothing to do with the echo board. the "pop" is caused by a leaky electrolytic capacitor in the receiver muting circuit.

Old Connex 3300 echo board
I have an old connex 3300 with the echo board, i want to take that board out & put in a Cobra 142GTL.
anything special to look out for?
the board dont have any tuning pots and the echo board has two knobs!
