That's cool. The reason they last so long is that they don't heat cycle and brake parts like the cheap ones. Also there are parts that increase life like the huge inrush currant suppression thermistor that becomes 200C 3 seconds after you turn it on. They are a different animal.
No vendor change, we just went to double ball bearing fans. The problem is if you reduce RPM you reduce CFM and cooling. To some its not loud if placed away from the radios and mics. To others its a jet engine. To me its not that loud as you can here four running in the 200 amp video. The server...
Feel free to change the fan without voiding the warranty. The only thing I ask is to give me the make and model number of this 25 CFM quite fan so I can use it. The only way I have found to make it quitter is to install less CFM fans. This will increase heat and reduce life.
Oh yeah, were not going anywhere. If you click on our ad it's a dead link for the next day or so. I thought it would be a good idea to point out that if you click on www.megawattpowersupplies.com it still goes to the website. Like I said I am going to keep the old URL too since many people...
Hi guys and gals, we have a new server and domain name. www.megawattpowersupplies.com The old domain www.12voltpowersupplies.us will be down for a few days while we are in the process of completing our 301 redirect. In the future both domains will get you to the same website.
Thank you,
John
I put up the challenge before about information on a 17 CFM 12 volt fan than is quieter and I got no response. What other true 50 amp power supplies out there have a quite fans? My fan noise is all air flow. Its not motor or bearing noise. PM me so I can buy one and test it. I would love to make...
What a MegaWatt you would have to have the MOSFET oscillation frequency run away out of control simultaneously with the failure of the overvoltage protection circuit. This would be incredibly rare and if it did happen could only produce 16 volts.
Yes, some people are super sensitive to noise. 30 db is equal to leave rustling sound-wise. I have a video of four S-700-12 power supplies running in parallel on my website. Its a great way to compare my voice to the sound of four units running together before you buy. One power supply is a lot...
The fans run all the time to eliminate heat cycling. The constant heating and cooling of the internal parts of a power supply is what causes early failure. The problem is the power supply needs 25 CFM to keep it cool so the movement of air is what you are hearing. The fan manufacturer and my db...
