I used to run a ss whip on my trucks for years, until I bought the Predator 10k single coil 27" shaft, and mounted it on the back side of the tool box in my F-150, had the coil 8" above the cab, never looked back after that lol...

As you all know, I run 2 EF's here, one is a 4010 and the other one is a 8010..... The 4010, ended up using the CMC choke on this wire and also have 3 beads on the coax behind the radio, and no RFI in the shack or pc anymore..... The 8010, getting ready to put it back up and see what happens...

Have a question about antenna tuners..... If you was going to buy this amp, which antenna tuner would you buy and why ?....

I had went to a EF 4010, and hung one end at about 65ft and the other end is about 40ft or so, does well like this for Dx....

You guys who is running a EFHW 8010 wire antenna, as a inverted L shape, what did u use to protect the wire as it goes up from the transformer side to make the turn at the top and runs horizontal cross the rest of the way?...... Also, what length did you end up going with on your EF ?....

Just bought one of these new a few months back and like to ask how do I go about putting a D-104 desk mic on it, mic I have just has a side bar u key, looks like a Tug 8 stand too, the one I have is wired for a 4 pin Cobra cb radio, can I get a adapter or should the mic be wired to this radio...

My Imax, I took it down a few weeks ago to move it and noticed the fiberglass had cracks in it its seen a rough life here but has lasted 10 years or so....replaced it with a dipole...

A friend of mine he runs a A99, and says it works well 10-17m bands without using a tuner on it..... I have one of the old Imax 2000 fiberglass antennas, and it does about the samething as the A99, but I had cut 6" off the top trying to use it on 20m band, but that didn't happen, so swr on 11m...

I have a nephew, who is learning how to work on cb radios, and at the present he is running a Cobra 139XLR for his base setup, ok, is there a frequency counter that he can leave inline and use with this radio all the time, or are they just something has to stay on the bench ?....

Thanks, I have 2 of these EFHW-8010hp model wire antennas have both up as of today, the 2nd one is on the other side of the house hung horizontal between 2 trees about 30ft off the ground just testing it over there for now, but yeah have a friend he told me to try the samething u did HomerBB...

Since I started this thread, I have moved that EF and it is in the lower end of the yard, still between 2 tree's and have the transformer end at 55ft and the tail at 65ft, and I do have a ground wire on it, and feeding it with a 160ft of RG 213 coax, had a little RFI, but took care of that and...

I run a EF 8010hp model here myself, one end is 55ft and the other end is 65ft and as u no it is 130ft long, seems to do well where it is..had some RFI in the shack alter I put it up but have that all under control now...but I'm like everyone else if I can better my antenna system, I'm all for...
