Are their different 4 to 6 pin adapters I think I have wrong one. 2970 keeps on scanning until I put stock mic on is it the wrong one

There are a LOT of possible combinations. You need to figure out the wiring of the mike connector on the radio and the wiring of the mike you want to use. There really is no standard - even manufacturers change the pinouts from time to time.

you best BECAREFUL ASWELL!! You can blow the main brain (processor) out of them radios buy firing voltage down the wrong pin on them radios with hooking the wrong pinout microphone in. Be sure you know what you have before plugging it in. That was a huge problem with the SUPERSTAR 4900B base they had a 6 pin plug and people thought great how awsome I can just take my 6 pin RCI microphone and plug it into this superstar because it is also a 6 pin and POOF they shot 12 volts into the micro processor and they now had a brandnew pile of junk that nobody could get the new CPU for
