I have talked from brunswick, oh, to Ft. wayne,IN on my GE with 40 watts. I have a home made 2 meter beam i made. Im 5 stories high about 1200 ft. above sea level. I have talk to a friend [GARY] in the mobile from here to sandusky . darn good trip. TERRY [ spike ]

How do you get your yaesu to operate there, I have a 857d, here, but never have been on MURS

My Yaesu 847 has had the full TX mod done to it. It puts out a little less power on MURS than it does on 2M, which makes sense. It will not TX on GMRS freqs, FWIW.
