I haven't used that particular one, but yes most 2m/440 radios can do this.

You can buy a radio for gmrs refurbished cheap enough around $120 ICOM commercial radio and have it programmed. You can also have it programmed by your self but have to buy the cable for around $19 and the software is sometimes free.

Yes, I have.

Same radio.

When I bought it, it was "opened up", and the fellow I got it from had it programmed for a GMRS repeater that a local of his had.

I put it in my big truck after purchase and was able to "kerchunk" said repeater.

Close to the IN/IL line near Chicago, MURS is active. At a guess, some are CBers and I'll bet some are hams.

MURS has some traffic here by the IN/MI line, same mix.

Local WalMart operates on 151.820.

No activity around here on GMRS, I heard activity is around Indianapolis and Franklin on a repeater.

I was on MURS on 154.57 but the local volunteer fire department now use that frequency so now will have to slide down to the 151 chnls.
