What isn't a lame argument is the fact that there are crimes caused by influence of drugs. Violent crimes. Different drugs affect the mind in different ways. I just think that to ignore this fact and allow an open free for all drug use puts the general population to a greater risk . I just don't buy all the arguments of assumption that the only crime that involves drugs is because of the lack of money to get drugs . I think that argument is very assuming . I think it's assumption to believe legalization just makes all the bad stuff non existent . I've seen the bad side of drugs and it is not pretty .

But as a former security guard who damn near was killed by a whacked out crack head who thought our health club in Detroit was the impound lot and was ready to take my head off with a snow shovel unless I produced his car I agree.

When you hit someone in the balls and head with a bar from a weight bench and he doesnt flinch you know he is on something. It took 4 of Detroit's "finest" to throw him against the brick wall and cuff him.

As I stated previously, I come from a long line of "Village Drunks" and "Pill Heads". The "Affiliction" skipped me for some unknown reason. No wait, it is not unknown. When I was 16 I got drunker than a monkey and woke up the next morning and made the concious decision that this was a waste of time and money, just to feel like crap the next day.
I probably carry the genetic weakness to become addicted to alchohol or drugs, but also feel like I was lucky enough to be born with enough intestinal fortitude to make the decision to not fall prey to it.

I pose the following questions:

Why do you drink?

Why do you smoke weed?

Why do you do God knows what other substance that will alter your mind?

I drink some beer, sometimes. I like the taste.

I don't smoke.

I take no drugs, except for one prescription from a doctor.

I'm one of the most drug free people out here, excepting infrequent alcohol, I even avoid caffeine.

I might take 10 aspirins a year, despite constant joint pain.
