Default Drug Prohibition...

Make sense to you?

Two million in prison, many on drug charges.

The so called criminals gave something to someone who wanted it.

Is that true to victims of rape, robbery and murder?

Sadly, it's become an industry and a money maker for the law, through asset forfeiture. Get caught with cash? Prove it innocent. First put up a high bond, pay a lawyer and maybe you will have some left if the man that decides (also a government employee) finds in your favor.

Drug War? Who is the enemy? The American people. Sick.

Didn't work with alcohol prohibition, never will.

Drug addiction should be treated as a health problem, not a criminal one.

If they legalized drugs the Mexico border wars would stop, but that would put to many governor workers out of a job.

it's all too real to me ;-)

having had a dui conviction in the wonderful state of illinois
i can tell you with all confidence thats it's "all about the benjamins"
i have shelled out close to 5 thousand dollars , in fines ,
special "treatment classes " given by a women who is a recovering alcoholic , and
high risk insurance .
all this for doing 62 miles an hour in a 55 mph zone after consuming three beers ,
and i still dont have the neccessary financial means to take on the illinois secretary of state , to regain my driving privileges

they dont give a flying f*** about rehabilitating anybody , or providing society a service ,
they want to take the average hard working joe who heads out to the
bar and has couple of drinks , and jack him up ,

turn his ass upside down ,shake his wallet out , and make the person feel like dregs of society .

when in all reality they made a bad decision , based on a moment of poor judgement .

i live near the moderate sized community of Danville illinois
and in the two years i have lived here , i have seen "violent" crime rise
substantially .
armed robberies , rapes , and murders are up ,
by the police departments own admisson , 25 percent over last year
perhaps this is because , all the law enforcemnet agencies in our state
are sending all of their parolees and probationaries to "danville "

while our esteemed governor ROD BLOGOBITCH
wants to cut funding for substance abuse programs ,
they are still popping the poor guy who wnats to go out after a hard weeks work , have a couple of beers . and try to get home .

i agree with your observation that they dont really care about the hard core criminals .
theres no money to be made , by arresting the armed robber who jacks up a service station , so he can go get a rock

it's so much easier to get the honest hard working people who have a few dollars ,
and bleed em dry ,

third world countries are looking pretty damn good as retirement options

;-)

As a 4 time loser and more than 10 years wasted behind fences and now 10 years of recovery under my belt and a different frame of mind,I can honestly say today my thoughts on drinking and driving are completely changed.Once your involved in an accident that causes multiple injuries to the other people and one close to death,(praying he lives)so you dont get charged with involuntary man-slaughter,You at that moment see the reasons for the laws to be the way they are.No-one is above this happening to them. The accident doesnt even have to be your fault. They look at it as if you had no buissness being on the road to begin with. And in reallity, you dont!!!You never know whats gonna happen.
Just think for a minute------------ARE THOSE 2 OR 3 BEERS AT THE BAR AFTER A HARD DAYS WORK REALLY WORTH THE POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES!!!!

Wow man! I hope your recovered life is going well now. I come from a long line of "Village Drunks" and "Pill Heads" on both sides of my family. I am the only one that managed to miss the curse, drinking got my brother when he was 35 and my sister when she was 50, Mother and Father were both recovered alchoholics.
No one knows the pain and suffering associated with this unless they have had it in their family.
I am glad to hear you got it together before it got you.

just depends ????
do those two or three beers really throw you over the limit ?
or is your liver so fried , you really cant function after those two or three beers ?
have you spent your entire life frying your liver ?

cop told me i wasnt driving bad ,just a little fast .
once he got a whiff of my breath , it was all over but the shouting

guess he smelled a DUI ,

and big money to the judicial system here in illinois

The last thing Im trying to do is throw stones,Just commenting.I know I never thought 3 beers inhibited my ability.Nor do I think it would now.All Im saying is that once confronted with the situation,it makes you wonder if those (however many it was)were important enough.Being a comercially licensed driver now,my legal limit is automatically cut in 1/2 whether or not I'm in a truck or a car.I dont think thats fair either. But as long as I maintain my sobriety,I dont have to worry about it.Hope I never do.
Personnally,I could never stop at 3 and drive home. But I can say that without having to worry about it anymore,My life sure is better than it ever was.Not only did I drink a lot,I didnt like to sleep for fear of missin out on something I guess.I'd be on a good one for 2 or 3 weeks at a time. Not a good combo with a car.
