Good / Best all around modern SWL receiver

soming like a elecraft kx3 with a panacapter would be nice, or k3s but pricey
the chinese clones of the mcHF qrp rig sounds attractive, but i have no idea what the receive specs are like
definaly not against the idea... and i spend a lotta time using SDR recievers now though PC's so totally on board with the panadapter...possibility

lots of nice sdr solutions out there, have a few myself,.... but if were talking stand alone... that be nice... if something was in a reasonable price range.

Looks to me like the SWL world is divided into two markets right now, cheap portables and SDR. There's not much out there as far as good stand alone receive only radios. I like a radio with actual knobs and switches myself but you just can't ignore the capabilities that SDR brings to the table at an affordable price.

Luckily for me my pursuit of the radio hobby consists of putzing around the spectrum to see what I stumble on, I really don't need much radio to do that.
