I have kinda dropped of the radio world map lately cause I have been occupied rebuilding a 31 year old motorcycle. A 1981 CB900C Honda. Kinda did a bobber treatment on it and rebuilt the engine. Well it is done! Did I miss anything? lol

Anyone ever wire a Turner +2 to a TS-480? I read a review on eham that suggested they match up nicely, and I just happen to have both and would like to try it.
The TS-480 uses the 8 pin modular cat 5 type mic input. Can anyone help me with what wire goes where?

Well the Sirio is sold as a CB antenna and works great there but it is also broadbanded enough to use on 10 meters without a tuner. I put the new Sirio SD-27 on the mast with the existing ladder line fed doublet that I use on the HF bands. The ladder line for the doublet in the picture is 600...
I put the new Sirio SD-27 on the mast with the existing ladder line fed doublet that I use on the HF bands. The ladder line for the doublet in the picture is 600 ohm (real) ladder line coupled to a Dentron Super Tuner in the shack.
Everything but the Sirio is scraps from the garage and stuff...

PL259 Connectors - Taming The PL259 Connector by VE3VDC
summary - Putting PL 259 on coax:
1. Strip off 3/4" of outer insulation.
2. Fold the braid back over the outer coax insulation.
3. Cut away the inner insulation close to the edge of the braid, exposing the center...
I am looking for a receiver to listen to the HF spectrum. A shortwave radio would be fine if it has SSB mode too.
I will trade you a very strong custom made 2 pill, with 2 2879s in it. It is in a large 1x4 case on a giant heat sink with dual fans.
Whatcha got?
Hi,
I have built a north south inverted V dipole that is fed like this:
3 ft of rg-213 coax from radio to Dentron Super Tuner, tuner to 8 feet rg-213 to a 4:1 balun, 600 ohm ladder from balun to feed point of dipole. It is working great for me and tunes up EVERYWHERE.

If you had $200 laying around doing nothing, and you wanted a 2 meter FM rig, would you go for the Kenwood TM 271-A or Icom IC-2200H.
eham.net rates them the same......
I am sooooo confused. lol
Any one ever try using 450 ohm window line to feed a Vertical antenna like a Maco V58?
I know it is a 50 ohm feed point currently resonant on 11 meters, but I use a big old tuner to get on 10 and 12 meters anyways.
Window line is so cheap and efficient, I was wondering if anyone has ever...
