Just an idea, this is how I have power and ground in my Nissan Armada. Power coming thru the firewall where the accelerator cable runs thru and terminating in a power distribution block. Ground runs to front seat bolt.

I've had friends in Canada complaining it has been too hot. Did not realize it was THAT hot there. I've almost gotten used to it here in Chicago area.
