After reading this thread, this is well beyond my capabilities... Are there any shops/builders that do these modifications?

The stock mic is giving me problems so I was going to replace it with a N/C type. I read about the 2018 mic specific to the 257's but those seems to be hens teeth... Recommendations? Thanks

I'm kind of fed up looking for decent techs to ship my radios too. The more I educate myself the more I realize that all I seem to find here locally are of the 'golden screwdriver types'. So , I choose the path of doing it myself. If it is going to be messed up I'll have no one to blame but...

If I had the $1200 I would plunk it down on the IC-7000 I have been drooling over for months. Maybe come tax season I will unload a few amps and a radio and finally take the plunge to the 'other side'.

From this board, (and it's earlier incarnations) I have picked up some good used gear. Also not having and kind of HROs within a couple hours drive from here the reviews written, video or otherwise are about as close to touchy feeley as I can get to most equipment.

I just had the IMAX hooked up to give it some ears. It will have its own dedicated line.

I saw that Mack, I looked at Allied and Digikey too. It's the 4th digit that's acting up. I'm just going to put up with it until I can't take it anymore then I'll get another one. Thanks guys!
