    Ft 897D problem

Hello all, I have always run my ft879d on emergency power (lead acid car batts). Never had a problem till now, when powering up, it acts like it wants to power up but it wont.A series of clicking sounds happen but no power. Yes the batt is good and fully charged and all connections are...

    6:1 Balun

I'm working on a 70 cm Yagi. Feed is going to a folded dipole. At the feed point I should be looking at give or take 300 Ohms I think.

    6:1 Balun

Well, I'm working on a 70 cm Yagi. Feed is going to a folded dipole. I guess I could use another match. Never done this before, just playing around. How else could I do this? I would like for what ever I end up with to handle some power. Thanks for the fast reply.

    Lindenblad ????

Thank you for getting back to me. That part does make sense. I was under the impression that the signals from the birds were projected from whip antennas. As the satellite rolls and tumbles, you would adjust for polarity using a yagi by moving it from vertical to horizontal or vice versa. Are...

    Lindenblad ????

Getting ready to start a lindenblad project. 70cm Parasitic lindenblad and for 2meters, an EZ-lindenblad. I dont understand why I would need two for each band (1 LHCP and 1 RHCP) if I do at all. Is it necessary to have one for each polarity on each band? This doesnt make any sense to me, can...

    6 meter J-pole

Just because. For the two meter version, I used an old fishing pole. Not the crappie pole suggested in the Manpack build, but a regular pole, just cut the eyellets off. Not sure how for the six meter version yet but it cant be that hard. I dont know, never messed around with ladder line before...

    6 meter J-pole

I just might have to go this route if nothing else. Although, I do like the flexablity of the twin lead as Im looking to strap this on my rucksack for pedestrian mobile. Something like this for example but for six meters Man Pack Radio

    6 meter J-pole

Im looking to mount a six meter antenna to my rucksack if it can be done. Ive done a J-pole for two meters using the 300 Ohm twin lead and it works great. Can this same idea work for six meters if I scale it up using the twin lead? Ive seen many posts about this through out the web, but they...

    Satellite QSO planning and schedules

I'm interested in working the ssb inverting linear transponders VO-52 and FO-29. My work schedule gets in the way most of the time until 5:30pm Eastern US time. I'm having a lot of trouble receiving the two birds with my arrow yagi, so I'm working on a lindenblad project to eliminate having...
