And the KC1ACI Repeater is back alive. Picked up a couple of MaxTrac radios and a DVRPTR V1 board and we are back in business. Check out the repeater dashboard at http://kc1aci.ddns.net
Its not 100% just yet waiting on a new Duplexer which should be in very soon.
Yes I believe adding a solder pad on 5 is the MARS Mod. Dont forget about the 4k wide ESSB mod. I'll be picking mine up Friday and cant wait. Probably the best radio for the buck on the market today ! $1159.95 with the rebate !
I'm usually listening in the afternoons. I just did my fuel pump not too long ago. I was replacing the tank skid plate and broke the plastic nipple off the fuel pump module .. Not a lot of fun.
I'll connect in later today ...
Old Thread but the KC1ACI B Repeater is still in operation. I am running a Kenwood 820 Repeater with a DVRPTR v1 Board and a new Radxa Quad Core linux box. You can check out the dashboard at http://kc1aci.no-ip.org ..

True, but caps do need to be replaced. The company was suppose to start back up but I guess it fell through and the new design for the cabinet had a trap door in the bottom for access. If I ever have to dig that deep into this one I will most likely have a door cut in the bottom for access. But...
The commander has some great safety kick out features, I just dont want to have to recap it as you have to disassemble the entire amp. A rather poor design in that aspect.
My guess is its just old and met its end, the connections are clean and the fuse snaps in very securely. They havent made these amps in quite a while so it could just be showing its age..
Had a bit of a scare the other night, yakking on 75m running about 1400 watts with the Commander HF-2500 and saw a flash out the corner of my eye and the amp kicked out. Reset it and my Grid current was CRAZY and as soon as I transmitted it spiked and kicked out.
Well now I am thinking a...
Well I am on my Backup rig for a while, since the IC-9100 had to make a trip back to Icom.
I hate having lousy audio so I picked up a MD-100 mic and the radio had a 2.3 filter in it. So it didnt sound bad. The next logical step was an INRAD 726 filter which gives you 2.9 Hz in SSB. Now it...

Couple more racing pictures, I have a ton of different dirt bikes I have owned as well as street bikes. Current street bike is a HD XR1200R ..
I have been very successful connecting the repeater to the club X Reflector. I just updated my repeater using a BeagleBone Black Computer. Its running Debian Linux on its internal 2 gig Memory. This is a much more robust setup than the original Raspberry Pi and much more stable.
Feel free to...
Just updated but unable to link, you may need to check the port forwarding. Not sure how you have it setup.
I am using No-Ip to take care of my IP address http://kc1aci.no-ip.org works pretty well and I have my repeater status available on a web server at that link.
Whats been recommended is a powered USB hub with a 5v 3a power rating. I just picked one up and it powers the Pi, and GMSK with no problems.
I just put a TKR-820 online and took the GM-300's offline. The performance is slightly better but it doesnt get near as hot as the 300's even with a...
