MFJ-299 hook up to 6 pin I am also looking to get this mic and try to get it wired to a 2995dx and 2970N2.Is there any adapters that would work since it come wired for 8 pin or anyplace that has them prewired so I can plug and play?

:biggrin:Well I asked my friend for help and we built a power distribution box!yes, it did take awhile but it came out perfect with 6 gauge power wire into the buss bars and 4 terminals to hook anything i need up.

Yes,I have considered a sweet 16 but being for the Base unit you would have to have a monster power supply witch is a lot more money versus getting a base amp ready to go.

I do like the RCI 2970dx for the base but I do like the meters on the 2995dx since I do watch for meter reading for friends.I thought I would go with the 98vhp witch it has more options I like.The 94HP and 4 pill in the mobile and 98vhp and 6 or 8 pill on the base antenna.

I mostly us am and talk to my local buddy's around the valley,but when conditions are good I do go and use SSB and talk as far as my antenna will let me. Since looking into amps I have heard that the Fatboys have lost good build guality and cheaper parts,I don't know this is what I have heard...

Were is the fan located at on the VS 70M,I don't see it in any pics like I do on the RS 70M on the rear.
