For someone wanting to get rid of florescent lighting buzz, or plasma tv RFI, I would say it's worth it. If you have a mysterious noise, think twice, but it could work.

The ANC-4 had great success against the florescent lights at my parents place. It didn't seem to have as much affect on the noise at my apt though. It seems to quiet down the receive but it seems to be attenuating the signal rather than just killing the noise. I'll have to plan around with...

I'm sold! Where do I sign up? :huh: I was thinking of getting a 2950dx or a 2970N2 but ended up getting my 2510 fixed, getting a used Kenwood TS50, and a texas star 350DHV. I think I'm pretty happy with my setup. :thumbup:

My main reason for wanting a new mic is to drive the TS50 a bit harder without opening it up. It only peaks out at about 85 watts on 10 meters with the stock mic on SSB. I had a Heil element in my D104 yeeeears ago.. :thumbup: I preferred the 10DAL head to the D104 with the Heil element...

I've had two 2510s, the TX button keyed up the radios when pressed. I have no idea what this feature is used for. I suppose it could be used to tune swr or run a antenna tuner. I'd much rather the button be used for something more useful though.

I've never used the studio style mic, I don't think I'd like it. =( I would rather have the mobile mic style. I'm probably going to be picking up a MC60A soon as a base mic.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement mic for the TS50? The Heil HMM looks good but I can't find one for sale anywhere.

Being in to radio at a young age definitely helps communication skills. HF communication can even teach geography, culture, and many other things. I have to admit, I probably spend more time on 11 meters than 10. =) That may change after I upgrade my license though.

Alright, I'm convinced. I'll be setting up the bazooka dipole this weekend. =) Tony, The TS50 is very easy to use and built like a tank! You're one of those lucky guys that has a YL/XYL that is in to radios also. Lucky dog! :thumbup1:
