Thank for the info guys. I dont plan on using it in the 440Mhz. mainly just 151.700 is what we'll be running. and up or down a few.. Im not looking for any crazy meter just one that'll give me a good reading so i know im not damaging the radio or anything else..
I am new to this still so Im sorry if I dont sound too smart. I am thinking of setting up a VHF radio at my house to talk to different trucks(friends) around my town. I found an antenna on ebay for $52 and wasnt sure if it was a decent antenna for the price. The antenna will be ontop of a 10ft...
well i just went a bought myself a discone antenna from radio shack, probably not the best im sure it'll do for now. i have read in different forums the some poeple use the discone antennna from radio shack for 11meter transmitting as well as in the 150mhz.
would that be alrite to use it for...
so this might be a stupid question but im new here so go easy on me please.
Im trying to set up some antennas on my roof of my house, I have a pole on my roof already that has a scanner antenna and a 2.4ghz antenna for my wifi. But what i want to know is if there is a single antenna that i can...
thank you! I just didn't want to blow out my scanners or other radios. But if that wont happen with 18+inches between the antennas then that helps me worry less..
I was wondering what is the safe distance that should be between the antennas on the roof of my tahoe? I am using 2 scanners, 1 Kenwood and 1 Icom radio as scanners also, I know distance between scanner antennas doesn't really matter but how far from the scanner antennas should i mount my...
well its no so much a business, its more of friends talking throughout the day/night and keeping in contact, cell phones limit to just 2 people talking rather then multiple talking about the same subject
well thank you! yah i was actually hoping to keep the tk-780 as a mobile in my truck. sounds like it'll be easier to just have them get ham licenses. I was really hoping to be able to get this to work, dang. Is there a way to do something like this on UHF channels?
i also already have the cable and software for the kenwood radios, thank you. So using MURS freqs is an easier and better way for what i want to be using it for? Isn't MURS only limited to less the 15miles? I was kinda hoping for more then that haha
yes i know of cb radios, called skip shooting the 11meter band. i've done plenty of it.
i am trying to set up a network of local stringers (news photographers and videographers) in order to talk to each so we can dispatch each other and help each other out on calls. It would be nice to be able...
alrite then. i kinda figured something like that.
well how do i go about getting a business license for a certain frequency or frequencies? and how much do those usually cost?
yah i already know of reprogramming it. The business folded so they are not around anymore. So if its illegal for me to use the channels on there, what will i have to do to be able to use these or other channels and also have workers use he radios without hem being licensed?
Thank You!
so I'm new here so please go easy on me.
i recently bought a kenwood tk-780 from some guy, he said it was used for their company that went out of business. My question is what would happen if i start using the channels that are still programmed in the radio?
