NOT me.
I don't deal with companies like them.
Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu and others are better for ham use and just as good for MURS/GMRS. Plus they don't have the totalitarian mentality that moto does.
I'd go with an external. They can be had for real cheap.
Here is an example on Ebay:

Really? I hear much traffic on 26.915 AM when skip is rolling.
That whole radio is inherently against the "law" in any case. So?
Country boy, I was just making an observation.
It is found offensive by many folks when people type in all caps. It is considered yelling and is quite hard...
I'll second that.
I had my heart set on an S-980 if they ever got released. I'm glad I made the choice I did.
I've never owned another export, but I did look at MANY of them. The shop I bought from has S9s, S6's, S680's, and several Galaxys along with a few other brands.
He pushed the...
That's what I'm thinkin' Me.
Like I said beofre, I thought I had it pretty good before. Like ~1.2:1 with the amp off. The dual needle meter I use is kind of hard to tell the precise SWR when the power is below 4 watts.
Now the reflected watts barely moves and I can tell it is right around...
Well then maybe installing this thing caused me to re-tune my antenna better than it was before. I though I was quite close before, but it is better now regardless of the radial.
I'm not real worried about the $24 it cost me. My SWRs are real good. I'll leave it in place. To remove it I'd...
Yup.
I tuned it this morning and got even lower SWRs than before. Barely 1.1:1 flat across the channels.
It even lowered the SWRs with the amp on. I was 2.5:1 before and now am at about a usable 1.5:1 .
I guess I technically mis-typed. it is a ground radial kit. Made by Victory, p/n...
I added a ground plane kit to my Wilson 5000 mag mount.
Should I simply cut off approximately what the ground plane added to the length? Then use this as a baseline to re-tune?
I can also deduct the measurement of the ground plane from the Wilson whip spec of 61¾".
What do you all...
I will be in Suffolk county this week and was wondering of anyone knows a good radio shop I can stop in to?
I'll be on the north shore in Suffolk.
Thanks
I have several and I like my Cobra the best. I also have one from Radio Shack that is made real well and has a metal yoke.
Although I don't have one the Uniden's look nice too.
Hello all.
I just got a BC296D digital scanner. I am usually very good at all this technical stuff, I can even program a VCR. What I cannot do is figure out this whole TRUNKING deal. What is up with this???
Could they make it more complicated?? :x
I also have a R-S PRO-2051 (non-digital)...
I don't know about cracking and bending.
I have a 1000 on top of a work van, and a 5000 on the roof of an F350 (ie: tall). Both hit every bank drive through I go to, have been for years.
Neither are bent of cracked at all.
I have two of these MURS radios and they are excellent!
For only $66 each they are made as good as any Kenwood or Icom. They made to Mil. Spec. standards as well.
Scrool down to MURS22:

Hello all,
I have a chance to get an Icom IC-3220H for relatively cheap. IS this a sought after radio? Will I be able to resell it easily?
I get no hits doing an Ebay search so I am wary about being able to sell it there. Is this because this is a radio no one wants or because there are not...
