Yaesu ft-2900r frequency modification mars mod

I've seen two different versions of the mod. One is unsoldering one jumper and resoldering another, and then the other is just unsoldering one. I just picked up a FT-2900R the other day, and would like to do the mars mod, but don't want to lose the auto repeater shift.
