I like the RT software I got it for my icom 92ad and it was pretty simple to use I got it for my kenwood th72ad it was cool just downloaded it from their website and used the USB cable supplied by kenwood. no need for extra cables to buy.

I have the DVAP and I can walk around the house with no problem if i swap antennas to my diamond SRH320A I can go outside and walk around or sit on porch. i have the icom 92ad inside i can use a diamond srh805s stubby and it works fine

well if aprs is in use during a emergency searchers or rescuers can be seen and locations can be seen, i think It can be valuable to know where your operators are if they had a field assignment during a disaster. edit well I am a little late with this post you already said it all :thumbup:
