Damn! "May not ship to Australia"

I think it had dirty contacts, I cleaned them and it doesn't seem to be an issue now. I also tried one out of a hardly used Realistic that I have, made no difference.

I've just finished recapping a President Washington (858), that I had let some of the magic smoke escape from, it now has a chirp when the microphone is keyed. When it chirps, the needle bangs over to full deflection then settles to zero. It is TXing OK but sometimes RX seems to fade out...

Hi guys, I bought a CB radio (GE A3-5825B) on eBay (yeah I know), all is working, except both sidebands are giving around a 7 watt carrier. AM is working like a champ. Listening on another radio on AM, both sidebands sound like normal SSB signals. Any ideas? FWIW, video here:

Devil's advocate here: What if the buyer is a real scum bag, and simply says there were no seals on the radio? Does the buyer need to make an unboxing video to prove it? Where does it end?

There are a few who are OK, on 35, most like hearing the sound of their own voice, though. I have no locals, so I rely on propagation, if 38 is running, I am there. Yesterday was freak conditions, I believe.

I was hearing parts of California too, but no contact. Texas may be just a little too far out of the zone.
