    AnyTone AT-5888UV VHF/UHF Mobile Review

Its not that its one band repeat, its that you can only monitor one freq at a time while repeating. Also you cannot in-band repeat with it.

    AnyTone AT-5888UV VHF/UHF Mobile Review

Sorry for the double post, but Kenwood mobile radios do have the ability to change freqs and operating parameters remotely, by using DTMF tones to remote control the radio. I never use that function so i forget about it. Im not sure if thats what you are looking to do.

    AnyTone AT-5888UV VHF/UHF Mobile Review

Yes, if you crossband repeat with the Anytone, you can only listen to one freq at a time. Im not aware of any radio from any manufacturer that will allow you to crossband 2 freqs or scan while crossbanding. Also in regards to that Radiotone repeater, you can get adapters to make them interface...

    AnyTone AT-5888UV VHF/UHF Mobile Review

This is kind of outside of the scope of this thread, but it is possible to do what you are trying to accomplish, although it will take 2 separate radios (which dont specifically have to be Anytone) There is a company, i believe its Radiotone, which makes little repeater controller things that...

    Amazing and cheap SDR receiver.

Well im new to this SDR thing, i looked into it before but none of the sticks would cover VHF low, which we use alot around here. Now that these cover them, i placed an order for one. I cant wait to see how this goes.:thumbup1: Also thanks to N1RJX and vo1ks and whoever else has posted so far...

    New Anytone AT-588UV VHF/UHF Mobile

Why is it that almost all hams are so quick to shout vaporware anytime something doesnt come out when they expect it to? There was never even a release daye specified. Besides, delays are a normal part of development, i dont see why everyone gets so surprised and upset when they happen, its a...

New Anytone AT-588UV VHF/UHF Mobile - Pulled back

Who did you order the radio from? Not that im doubting you, but one else has announced this, so im just curious as to whether no one else has gotten the news, or that they are just being asked to keep it quiet so that it doesnt detract from peoples excitement or expectations for the mobile

TyT TH-9800 QUAD BAND MOBILE RADIO

I was talking about a mobile, not a portable, and i im not really interested in how you can do it with the Kenwoods and some other radios, with 2 bodys and one control head. Also, i mainly am looking for a cheaper way out, as i would like to keep it relatively cheap. Although i would consider...

    NEW Wouxun KG-UVD1P w/ 6 Meters

Actually, come to think of it, thats the way with pretty much anything chinese. The tools from Harbor Frieght: Awesome, i can fill my toolbox for 50 bucks, then after 3 uses, half of them are broken, worn out, or not 100% functional. The food, you love it when your eating it, then... i dont...

    NEW Wouxun KG-UVD1P w/ 6 Meters

Yea i know about the APX7000, but i have never actually seen one in person, and its pretty much a Fed-only radio, as not very many people can justify spending that kind of money one it. Also i could be wrong but i dont think that it will cover VHF low. Anyway, if you are planning on buying one...

    NEW Wouxun KG-UVD1P w/ 6 Meters

If you had actually read my post, you would see that i mentioned wanting a DUAL BAND RADIO that could cover BOTH BANDS. This would elimanate the need for carrying 2 radios. Currently Motorola and all of the other big brands dont offer that, and this may have the possibility to. *EDIT* That...

    NEW Wouxun KG-UVD1P w/ 6 Meters

I want to know if it can be opened up even more to cover regular VHF low freqs. I would love for a radio that can cover bot VHF high and low. I dont really think it would be to much of a stretch to get it to transmit down into the 40s as we use alot of freqs in the 40 mhz range around here and...

TyT TH-9800 QUAD BAND MOBILE RADIO

I know that this wont matter to alot of people around here, as most people have no need for this, but what i want is for this radio to be able to TX/RX regular VHF Low public safety/business frequencies. We use alot of lowband stuff around here, in addition to regular VHF and being that it will...
