One thing to think about is the strength of the aluminum vs the steel. I would reinforce the roof mount to be safe. As I remember, there were issues with the aluminum bodies getting torn going thru a car wash because of the am fm radio antenna. Just a thought
I do understand the feeling that others are getting handed something which you worked for. With that said, from what I've read, some compare technicians to 11m. Seriously? While some feel comfortable generalizing every person in a group, if I did that, I would have no interest in taking my test...
I don't feel so bad now. Not only do ham ops turn their nose up on 11m ops but other hams as well.
I would think that anyone holding their ticket would be happy to see more on frequencies they use. I still plan on getting my ticket but if I hear a station talking like this, I will find another...
Sorry to hear it. I had my stereos stolen twice. First time I had no alarm. The second time, they cut the battery cable.
My point is, I know your pain. Hopefully the window isn't too expensive either
I've heard a triple nickel and 555 central Texas on sideband quite a few times.
I used 309 in the land of Lincoln but that is going to change when I get back on the air. Just moved to south east AL last weekend.
I've never had the headliner off such a new truck but aren't there roof supports that could help conceal the coax? Just an idea.
I had pretty good luck with my old Wilson 1000 mag mount but I noticed an improvement when I mounted my 102 on the trunk lid. I know it's not the same thing but I...
Not that it would help all that much but isn't there an Amazon link that kicks some revenue your way if we buy through them? I saw it quite a while back but can't find it now.
I wouldn't myself but that would essentially be a 667v. If you decide to run a one pill make sure to keep it low drive from the radio (10 watts max ssb and a low dead key 1.5 to 2 watts) Many bypass the driver stage on the 667 to just run the straight 4 pill. I wouldn't bother chasing after...
mark must be giving pro tunes lol why not just buy a new radio.
and a simple alignment. no super tunes pro tuned. it not rocket science.
like some people like to say. its all snake oil.. at the end of the day its a cb radio
If I was spending that kind of money I wouldn't buy a cb. I'd be...
I would pay a little extra for something I could never get as a child but I would still have some common sense about the item. If the markup is 500% or more I won't touch it over the principal.

Mine was a small diy kit. Solder it up and add a power source. Doubles as a freq counter. It turned out that I had 3 dead 9 volt batteries. It does work. I'd rather have yours but I'll work with what I've got.
And my crystal tester from China is defective. $6 shipped through Amazon so hopefully they send me a good one or refund it. I don't think I would order electrolytic caps from China though. I glanced at Mike's eBay store for a kit to recap my grant LT. I didn't see one but I didn't search too...
