    What one is better?

They're both great mics. I prefer them to D104s, actually...I've always ran the +3s simply because I like the design better than the +2s. Besides that, I haven't met many people that like the baby blue appearance of the +2, but they are great mics any way. What kind of radio are you running?

    MFJ -949C

To get on 80, you may want to consider loading up the 40 meter antenna as a "random line", turning everything, including the transmission line, into an antenna. This has worked pretty well for me with my G5RV, which in the configuration it's in works best as a random line on 80. You should...

what radios have the best ears ?

I've found that the older Uniden Grants and older Presidents (Madison, Washington, etc.) usually have great ears when properly aligned. I think they have good receivers all around on AM and SSB. The Lincolns, 2510s, etc. have pretty good receivers, but I never really liked how the receive...

    RF Limited XTR-2018 Xtreme ?????

I don't think the handi mics require power from the mic jack, though I believe that the mics for Icom rigs take voltage from the mic jack. Mics requiring phantom power are more common in commercial/studio applications than in ham radio. Some guys are using commercial/studio mics on their ham...

    Dragon 10m radio.....

I had an Eagle Tomahawk that I ran for about 6 months. I liked it, but no one else really did. :P My Tomahawk had very low audio, which was remedied by using a D104. I bet a Turner +3 would do the trick too, but I did not have one at that time. I liked it because of the memory functions and...

    Kenwood 520.....????

Great old radios. Familiarize yourself with the tune up procedure. Download at least that part of the manual and keep it on hand. I loved mine, wish I still had it. I highly doubt it's a complete station like Rob is talking about. Also, find out if the tubes are at full output or if you...

    Ten-Tec Omni V......

Just my opinion, but Icoms tend to have very good receivers. I've never owned a 735, but what I've heard is they do have a very good receiver, but they are difficult to drive to full power without the proper microphone. The pre-PRO icoms used low level microphone preamplifiers. I think this...

I think I'd probably snatch it up for 200 or so too. Seems like that would be a great deal.

    Ten-Tec Omni V......

One thing you may want to keep in mind is that I don't think it has a general coverage receiver. If I were going to have one HF rig in the shack, I personally would like it to have general coverage receive.

    2 antennas 1 roof

I bet the actual physical length of the antennas in question, and the distance between them, have more to do with whether they will interact; more so than what band they are designed for. I could definitely see one or the other acting as a director or a reflector. However, I do agree there is...

    Hams on CB

I always wondered why if they wanted to really enforce the 155 mile rule, why they didn't choose a higher frequency that was less capable of producing long contacts.

Using a small satellite dish as an 11 meter antenna

I don't think he said it exhibited gain or stated gain figures, he just said it was directional. That would not surprise me since it is mounted horizontal. Have fun and good tinkering. :D

    ladder line fed vertical

The loss you get from tuning the 50 ohm coax for 10 and 12 probably isn't that great anyway. Unless you want to load it for over 29 mhz or below 24 mhz I don't see the advantage.
