I use 240 for home and my mobile, but my mobile is all tied up and secured tightly.
That being said I wouldn't use in on a door mounted antenna or run it through a door jamb. to much movement.
You know I have 4awg JL wire in my truck and I was looking at it one day thinking it doesn't look right.
So I found me a piece of 4awg welding cable and the conductor was the same size. I think because of JL's oversized insulation it makes it look like the conductor is not as big as it...
It is a Wilson 2000 mounted to the mirror on the Pickup truck.
Although I have since removed it and mounted a 102" directly behind the cab centered.
It always worked good though.
I know that as far as Ham radios go there have better filtering than your everyday CB or Export, that being said I don't have one(yet).
I do have a 2950DX and a couple of 2510's. The 2510's have a night and day difference in the receive side when compared to the 2950DX. I can have a...
That is cool RB, I just wasn't sure why it didn't change on SSB but, since you did the work and the tune that must be why.
Thanks again for the great work, I have two 250's and the one you worked on without a question out performs the other one. I will send that one to you someday also.
Yep I know that, I don't need the radio to DK that low anyways it just does with the variable all the way down. As you said 4:1 should be good I think. I just didn't understand why it is still swinging that high.
Nomad, I assume that Rogerbird must know that becuse turning the DK all the way down (.6 watt) with the variable that has been installed, does not effect that swing at all.
Now with that being said on AM and SSB will swinging 15-20 into a TS DX350HD be a problem for the amp?
Hey you did a variable power mod to my radio, and I am not sure if this is right (it may be my junk meter), but the variable only seems to effect the am dk, it will swing the same not matter where you set it and it doesn't seem to change the SSB output at all. Is this right?
Oh by the way...
