I put up my imax 2000 today. its up around 23ft. on the meter it reads 1.4 swr across the band. When I turn on my sc 100t-bil-c amp the swr is almost 3 on ch1 and around 1.8 on 40. tried messing with tuning rings but doesn't seem to make any difference. any thoughts?
I'm wanting to increase my range of 2m simplex. I have a 94 ext cab sierra pickup, and currently have a tram nmo antenna on the roof, it claims its 3db gain. Was looking at the nr22l antenna, and if I hard mount it on the bed rail, would it do any better? since part of the antenna would be...
I ending up puting a 706 mk2g in my truck along with a ah-4 tuner. I have a mfj 20m and 40m hamsticks as long as a 102 whip. If I put the 40m stick on, can is use it for 20m also? the 102 does pretty good from 20-6m. but doing signal test the 20m does little better. but didnt know if would be ok...
If i were to use a 20m and 40m hamstick and mount them on a piece of flat aluminum bracket the was feed with coax. When i would transmit on say 20m would it auto band switch go to the correct antenna? or would i have to do 2 spereate mounts with a coax switch. just wondering since hustler has a...

was just wondering cuz i see some pictures of guys that have little matching coils on their hamsticks to bring match of the antenna and coax to 50 ohms. I didnt know if this was all important or not. I dont have an analyzer yet, but would love to have one, just didnt know if could do same with...
I'm going to be getting some hamsticks soon and want to make sure they are matched 50ohms to my coax. How can i check this without an antenna analyzer? Can i use a multimeter? thanks
looking at the ssb-25nmo. One site says its 49" and another says 57''. anyone used this antenna? seems like might be better having it on roof then the nr22l on the bed
I've been looking at getting a higher gain 2meter antenna. Been looking at this antenna. I have a 94 sierra. would it be better to put this on bedside or put a highgain nmo style antenna on roof. I have a nmo mount on roof with a dualband antenna now. But I dont use the 440side much, so wanting...
Im using a 102 whip with a ah-4 tuner. it seems to do pretty good for what it is. I have a 40m hamstick that im wondering if can use it to help improve my 40m signal, but can i use it on 20m also? If i were to get a 75m hamstick could i also do the same thing, use it on 75, 40 and 20m?
